Favonius is the name of the west wind in Roman mythology. In the Portuguese wine region of Lisboa, where these grapes are grown, the Western wind is predominant and comes from the Atlantic Ocean, having a huge influence on the climate for these vinyard.

An absolute delicious orange wine full of character and influence by our beloved Atlantic Ocean. Favonius, god of the western winds, giving us the waves we love and the salty spray that influences the weather patterns these wines grow in. It is and easy but super interesting wine. With some funky aroma’s found more often in natural wine but a delicious balanced taste full of Haribo gummy bear flavor

6 mg/L SO2, Residual sugar: < 1g/L

Portugal, Lisboa: Farnao Pires (90%), Arinto (10%)

12.5% ABV, 750 mL

The vineyard is located in Bombarral, inside the Lisboa demarcated wine region, on clay and sandy soil. The harvest was done by hand and took place on the first week of September 2022.

For 12 days, the destemmed grapes of Fernão Pires (90%) and Arinto (10%) fermented with the skins in stainless steel vats. Once the wild yeasts finished the fermentation, the skins were lightly pressed, and the resulting juice was blended to fill the stainless steel vat where the wine aged, without bâttonage. This wine will be bottled in March of 2023, without any finning or filtration.
